What is Bob's Track Builder?

Bob's Track Builder allows you to create tracks using simple mouse clicks to form the underlying track mesh ready to be imported into popular car racing games and raced on against your friends. [1]
Features:
- Spline based editing to create the layout.
- Add 3d objects via a simple interface.
- Export to games with the click of a button.
- Complex ripple strips, tyre walls and trees can be added in seconds.
- Import laser scanned Point Cloud data for ultra-realistic tracks (read more).
Caution:
- Games support for Evo and Pro versions of Bob's Track Builder differ. Be sure to check games support before purchasing.
Software Status:
- BTB Evo has not received updates since 2014 and only supports Windows XP with Vista/7/8 being "maybes" and 10/11 being 'good luck' I would guess
- BTB Pro has not received updates since 2019 (?)
- Race Track Builder appears to be the developer's focus since 2015, has been updated as of December 2025, but only supports Assetto Corsa [2]

Export Bob's Track Builder Pro to GTR2
Brickbot posted: I built a track in the pro version but I can't figure out how to export it for gtr2. Very frustrating. I'm not interested in making tracks for any other game. Brickbot replied: This is what I've figured out so far without anyone's help. Once I unpack a zip or rar file containing a track I can open up the .gtr extensions with Gedit, although I get errors I can make two different folders. One for dds files. And one for the 3d track models. But the track is split into multiple layers or files, like pieces of a cake. These files can be opened with 3d sim edit 1 at a time. Since all tracks are split into multiple layers that usually means there are like 30 pieces of the track split into fractions. And so have to be saved into this format which can only be opened by the above listed software before being repacked into the .gtr container.
