Why it's useful to know professional race driver simracers
- Real world race car drivers know things you can only know from experiencing the real thing
- Real world drivers have a language and an angle talking about cars and racing that simracers may not have. Daniel Morad, for example, talks about the way a car behaves with a real world racing vocabulary that is not common among simracer YouTubers.
- Watching professional race drivers talking about simracing can be very valuable, like listening to a very helpful teacher in a subject you're not familiar with
What to be wary of with professional race driver simracers
- Don't put up with arrogance. Just because you're a real world race driver doesn't mean you understand sims like simracers do, just like we don't know their world as well as them.
- They may understand car behaviour deeply but might not understand FFB as deeply as simracers do. This might apply to other areas of sim domain knowledge.
